The head of the Chechen republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, whose term of office expires in two months, has not yet decided whether to seek a new term, he posted on his Instagram page.
According to the head of Chechnya, journalists have reminded him that his term is expiring. "Questions emerged whether I’m going to stand for the post. I’m sure first of all this should be the choice of the Russian president. If he says that a person is fit for the post of the republic’s head and people support him, then he should participate. A politician who rushes to power for the sake of power will not be successful," Kadyrov said.
He said that it's too early to think about elections, so he's not going to get distracted and has not taken any decision yet. "Today it is important to implement my duties in full. They are too extensive!" the head of Chechnya stressed.
