Integration between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey will increase overall importance of the South Caucasus as a region, head of the Center for European Studies, Kakha Gogolashvili, said in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.
According to him, this integration will improve the image of the South Caucasus as a stable region, which can be used as an alternative to certain large international projects, the Silk Road Project, for example.
"In other words, it should be viewed as a stable region where it's possible to cooperate, where it's possible to attract investments, where countries synchronize their legislations, act together," he noted.
Another important area of cooperation is military cooperation. "It's very important for us to synchronize our actions and develop military cooperation in order to strengthen our defensive capabilities, as well as to prevent any kind of conflict between us," he stressed.
He also mentioned the fields of education and scientific cooperation. "Azerbaijan has made a serious progress, especially in the field of science. Turkey has a pretty high level of development. Georgia is cooperating with European structures in this direction. So we can join forces here, which is very important," the expert said.
