As a result of joint efforts, in three years Russia and Georgia managed to bring bilateral relations out from a 'gloomy deadlock', Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Grigory Karasin, said.
In his view, 'the gloomy deadlock', where the relations between Moscow and Tbilisi were five or seven years ago, "is associated with the figure of Mikheil Saakashvili."
"It is very important that Georgia is no longer perceived by the Russians as one of the foreign enemies. The leadership and people of the Russian Federation want to improve relations with Georgia, and patient work in this direction will be continued," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
Grigory Karasin and Zurab Abashidze agreed that their next Prague meeting will be held early next year.
