Today Tehran hosted a meeting of the State Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Grigory Karasin, and his Iranian counterpart, Ibrahim Rahimpur, where the parties discussed the development of relations of Russia and Iran with the former states of the Soviet Union.
"There were productive consultations, they were held in a good atmosphere. We discussed regional problems and exchanged propositions regarding the development of the relations of our two countries with the states of the former Soviet Union. Some more profound issues were not on the agenda," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
