Karim Massimov: we should thoroughly understand situation with doping

Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov instructed the government to launch a modern doping testing laboratory for Kazakh athletes, the Government's press office reports.

"Now there are a lot of questions about using performance-enhancing drugs by our and Russian athletes. Our team is now preparing for the Olympic Games and other major competitions. Therefore, I instruct the National Olympic Committee to do everything to make sure our athletes pass this test with dignity," AKIpress cited Massimov as saying.

"In order to buy a good laboratory we might use sources of private companies. We must hold a very good and important work together with the NOC," he said.

Kazakh Minister of Culture and Sports, Arystanbek Muhamediuly, in turn, said that Kazakhstan athletes have received 102 licenses.

"We are waiting for the final meeting of the disciplinary committee, which will be held on June 27 at the IOC in Lausanne, " the minister said.

Recall, Ilya Ilyin, Zulfia Chinshanlo, Maia Maneza, and Svetlana Podobedova appear to have used performance-enhancing drugs while competing in the Olympic Games.
