Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev becomes speaker of Kazakh Senate

The deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan re-elected Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev as their chairman.

Earlier, he was appointed a senator by decree of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"It is a great honor and a responsible task for me to fulfill the wise and far-sighted policy of the head of state," Tokayev said. He assured that he would do his best to justify the president's confidence.
