Kazakh Prime Minister Bakhytzhan Sagintayev voiced the government's standpoint on replacing VAT with a sales tax.
According to him, this issue had been discussed for a long time and the government. It was decided that it is inappropriate to enter the sales tax in the country.
"We have and understanding, our position is that Kazakhstan has no need in the sales tax," the head of the Kazakh government said, adding that it was brought to the attention of the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
