There is no need to reshuffle Kazakhstan’s government, the country’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
"When a new president takes office it doesn’t mean that there needs to be a government reshuffle," he said in an interview with the Yegemen Qazaqstan and Aikyn newspapers.
"The government has been formed only recently, it has a lot of issues to tackle and the ministers have been given specific instructions. There also are seasonal issues that include the spring flood and the planting season. This is why I currently see no need to reshuffle the government," TASS cited Tokayev as saying.
According to the Kazakh head of state, he will be guided by the principles of constituency, justice and continuous development. "The nation’s leader stepped down to set a unique example of ruling a sovereign state. My main principle will be the same: only statehood and continuity can help ensure the country’s development," he pointed out.
On March 20, Tokayev took the oath as Kazakhstan’s president following a resignation announcement Nursultan Nazarbayev had made.
