Kazakhstan allocates additional $9.2 mln for fighting coronavirus

Kazakhstan directed 3.5 billion tenge ($9.2 million) for fighting coronavirus, the republic's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Alikhan Smailov said.

According to him, the country allocated additional 2 billion tenge ($5.2 million) for this purpose.

"Additional costs for the evacuation of our citizens and students are planned now. About 3.5 billion were allocated by the Ministry of Health," Sputnik Kazakhstan cited Smailov as saying.

The total number of infections exceeded 24,300 in China with more than 490 people reported to have died from the disease. Meanwhile, 916 people are said to have recovered from it.
