Kazakhstan bans exports of petroleum products from outside EEU boundaries

Kazakhstan has temporarily banned exports of petroleum products beyond the customs area of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The corresponding order has been signed by Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Vladimir Shkolnik. It will enter into force 10 calendar days from the date of publication.

According to the order, exports of light distillates and medium distillate products, kerosene, gas oil, diesel fuel and other petroleum products (except for heating gas oil) have been banned for a six-month period.

This decision was made in order to prevent critical shortages and increases in the prices in Kazakhstan’s domestic market of petroleum products.
