According to the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan, the country’s population as of January 1, 2020, amounted to 18.632,200 mln people.
The urban population of the country amounted to 10. 893,800 mln people (58.5%), rural - 7. 738,400 mln (41.5%). Compared to January 1, 2019, the population increased by 236,500 people or 1.3%, AIF Kazakhstan reports.
The highest overall growth is observed in three regions of the country: Almaty (62,200), Nur-Sultan (57,600) and the Turkestan region (36,400).
