Kazakhstan's Minister of Defense Major General Nurlan Yermekbayev met with China's Minister of National Defense General Wei Fenghe within the framework of the Defense Ministers' meeting of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation in Bishkek, the Kazakh Defense Ministry's press service said.
According to the statement, the sides discussed the promising areas for bilateral military cooperation, issues of strengthening practical defense interaction in the context of rapid response to security risks and threats in the region, including the fight against terrorism, extremism and separatism.
"It was also noted that cooperation between the armed forces of Kazakhstan and China is at a high level and has great potential for further development," the statement reads.
