A joint statement was made by the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) and Kazakhstan Stock Exchange JSC (KASE).
According to the statement, NBK and KASE decided to change the trading rules for the tenge-US dollar currency pair on March 9, 2022. Trading in the tenge-US dollar currency pair will open in the mentioned date at 15:00 (GMT+6), Nur-Sultan time, and will be held in the Frankfurt auction format.
“This decision was made in order to prevent destabilization of the foreign exchange market amid high volatility and pressure from external factors. Information about the further mode of trading on the tenge-US dollar currency pair will be reported in a timely manner through official communication channels," the statement said.
