Kazakhstan to check Crimea's place in textbooks

The Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan will conduct the examination of high school textbooks issued by the Kazakhstan-based publishing house Mektep. Ukraine has sent a note of protest to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan regarding Kazakh high school geography textbooks that identify Crimea as a subject of the Russian Federation.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Astana believes that this point of view contradicts the positions of both the international community and the leadership of Kazakhstan on the issue of Crimea's reunification with Russia.
