Kazakhstan intends to increase the export of oil through the Russian section of the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline, a source close to the oil and gas market of Azerbaijan announced yesterday.
"Kazakhstan wants to supply about 3 million tons of oil per year through the section of the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline to the final destination from Makhachkala. Simultaneously, the operator of the Russian pipeline system Transneft is able to ship only 1.5 million,’’ Trend quotes the source as saying.
There are other problems with the implementation of this plan, the main of them is the quality of the Kazakh oil.
