Khidasheli denies Georgian war crimes in 2008

Georgian Defense Minister Tina Khidasheli has made a statement that the army of the republic didn’t commit war crimes during the conflict in August 2008 and fully supported the report ‘Under obstruction of August,’ prepared by several non-governmental organizations in 2009.

"Certainly, there were a lot of mistakes. It is easier for me to discuss it today than in 2009. Being Minister of Defence I have access to information that I didn't have then. I am even more convinced that there were a lot of mistakes, but these mistakes were committed by Georgian troops, Georgian politicians against the state interests of Georgia, but they are not linked with war crimes,’’ Georgia Online cites her.
