The experience of payments for Russian gas in rubles has proved convenient both for sellers and buyers, which is why this principle could also be used in case of Eurobond payments, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.
"This is a question to be addressed to the Finance Ministry. But overall, the experience of the system of payments for gas [in rubles], for example, has proved convenient both for sellers and for buyers amid current conditions. Why not use it, but in reverse order?" he said when asked to which extent such a system had been developed in case of Eurobonds, and whether it might be put in force prior to coupon payments in June.
Peskov urged to apply to a relevant agency for details though.
