Head of the Russian Accounts Chamber Alexei Kudrin said that Russia has adapted to the existing sanctions, but new sanctions may shock the Russian economy, which would have to go through adaptation again.
"Unfortunately, any new sanctions will cause new shocks and will demand new adaptation," the Prime news agency cited Kudrin as saying. He warned that they may be "much tougher than what we have now."
The economy has already absorbed the sanctions that have been imposed. Our companies have got adjusted to that,” he said.
According to the head of the Russian Accounts Chamber, the sanctions dwarf economic growth, which is sensitive to external sanctions due to a large amount of technological imports.
