Kvirikashvili and Mogherini hold meeting in New York

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini yesterday within the framework of the 72nd United Nations General Assembly session in New York.

EU-Georgia relations, the ongoing reforms and the situation in the occupied territories were discussed at the meeting between Kvirikashvili and Mogherini, the Administration of the Government of Georgia said.

The meeting focused on progress made by Georgia and the reforms, which, together with the development of the country, are focused on facilitating more rapid integration into the EU.

Attention was also paid to the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. Mogherini once again reaffirmed the EU's strong support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The EU High Representative said that Georgia was one of the most important issues at the meeting with her and US Vice President Mike Pence, which was held in New York the same day, Agenda.ge reported.

Georgia's PM and the High Representative of the European Union also spoke about the Eastern Partnership summit due to be held Brussels in November.
