The Georgian authorities are ready to make every possible effort to avoid political tensions in the country, the Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, said.
He shares the European Parliament's call on improvement of the political climate by avoiding confrontation and polarization.
"During my first speech as the PM, I made a similar statement. I will remain committed to this principle. As the governing political force, we are ready to do our best to avoid political tensions in the country, and I hope that our opponents will cooperate with us on key issues that are crucial to our country's development and for the protection of national interests," Georgia Online cited him as saying.
The head of the government stressed that the main priority of the country's leadership is to hold the 2016 parliamentary elections in a free, open and transparent environment proving the maturity of Georgia's democracy.
