Kvirikashvili visits Georgia’s regions affected by flood

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has traveled to western Georgia where heavy rains have caused major damage to infrastructure.

Kvirikashvili visited the Imereti region, where several bridges were wiped out, roads were destroyed and hundreds of hectares of agricultural lands were flooded.

"It was a very large-scale disaster with quite severe results regarding infrastructural damage, Kvirikashvili said, adding the situation was getting better today.

"Fortunately, there is no human casualty. As soon as the roads dry out, we will begin works to restore the damaged infrastructure," Agenda.ge cited him as saying.

Kvirikashvili will travel to the Martvili Municipality of the Samegrelo region which was also affected by the flood.
