 Kyrgyz president dismisses republic’s government

Kyrgyzstan’s President Sooronbay Zheenbekov has dismissed the republic’s cabinet of ministers headed by Prime Minister Sapar Isakov, the Kyrgyz president’s press service reported.

"The president has approved the decision earlier taken by the parliament expressing distrust in the government and signed an order dismissing the cabinet of ministers," TASS cited the press service as saying.

Kyrgyzstan’s parliament today passed a vote of no-confidence to the Cabinet led by Isakov.

This motion was supported by 101 lawmakers, while five voted against. In accordance with legislation, the president has the right either to make a decision on the Cabinet’s resignation or disagree with the lawmakers’ decision.

The non-confidence motion against the government was initiated by members of the Kyrgyz parliament’s opposition factions on Thursday who said they had collected the required number of signatures for that (of one-third of the MPs).
