French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said that removing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from power will not ensure the normalization of the situation in this country.
He added that Paris isn't going to send troops to war against the president of Syria.
Fabius reassured that the political leadership of France is committed to a diplomatic settlement. "We are engaged in very difficult and continuous work to achieve a political solution to the issue with the Arab countries, Russia, the United States and Iran," the minister noted.
Laurent Fabius stressed that in conducting a dialogue with Russia not all the problems should be mixed together and if all the focus is on the situation in Ukraine, then the settlement of the Syrian crisis will stand still, TASS reports.
