Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the issuance of accreditation to a diplomat from the government of the Taliban movement banned in Russia does not mean their official recognition.
"This does not mean official diplomatic recognition. Here we act in unison with Afghanistan's key neighbors ... and work on the basis of recognition of the current realities", RIA Novosti quoted Lavrov.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Moscow has constant regular contacts with the Taliban through the embassy.
