Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the United States’ pressure on the SWIFT system is unacceptable.
"Mechanisms are currently worked out within the framework of the joint group of participants in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action [for Iranian nuclear program], which will make it possible to continue performing provisions of this document, primarily in respect of economic ties with Iran, and without US participation," Lavrov said.
"You can see how, using unacceptable methods, pressure has been placed on the operators of the SWIFT system. But experts are actively engaged in these issues, and they have a sufficiently stable understanding that this is possible and that such measures will be found," Sputnik cited him as saying.
Lavrov added that the U.S. measures against Iran are absolutely illegitimate.
