Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that 'the sanctions war' between the West and Russia may drag on for decades.
"On the one hand, it is a great country, but on the other, representatives of its executive and legislative bodies behave themselves in a very petty manner," he stressed.
As an example, the Russian Foreign Minister recalled the Jackson-Vanik amendment in 1974, when Washington imposed sanctions against Moscow because the authorities did not give Jews an opportunity to emigrate to Israel.
"The Jackson-Vanik amendment was in force for more than 20 years and was only shelved because the Americans understood the likelihood of economic trade losses after we joined the World Trade Union," Moskovsky Komsomolets cited Lavrov as saying.
