Women's approach to leadership of the country will make the control over a number of areas of public life more effective, the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, a representative of the executive body of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Lilia Gumerova, told Vestnik Kavkaza, commenting on the appointment of the first lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, MP Mehriban Aliyeva, as the first Vice-President of Azerbaijan.
"The fact that Mehriban Aliyeva has taken such a high position is a very good sign. I believe that special woman's flexibility, the desire to save the family, and sensitivity to social and cultural issues, education and health issues are important for effective public control," the senator stressed in the first place.
Lilia Gumerova noted the growth of the Russian-Azerbaijani relations due to the projects implemented under Mehriban Aliyeva's leadership. "Our countries always have close and friendly relations. I have repeatedly visited the forums of international scale, conducted under her direction, and saw how they emphasized Russia's role in the region, Azerbaijan's friendly attitude towards us, and our age-old ties in the field of culture and other areas," the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture said.
Recalling the first Eurasian Women's Forum, which was held on the initiative of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko in St. Petersburg in 2015, the senator once again welcomed the appointment of Mehriban Aliyeva as the First Vice President of Azerbaijan.
"In this assignment, I see a continuation of the vector, which is in great demand in the world now - a soft, feminine force. The world must have the ability to negotiate, come to a consensus, and the participation of women is very important here," Lilia Gumerova concluded.
