Lithuania refrains from Russian natural gas supplies

Lithuania no longer imports natural gas from Russia, the Baltic Republic's Ministry of Energy said.

"The Lithuanian gas transportation system has been operating without gas imported from Russia since the beginning of this month", the Ministry said, specifying that Lithuania provides itself with natural gas by sea through the LNG terminal in the Klaipėda port.

The Ministry of Energy further noted that Russian requirement for the natural gas supply ruble payments is not relevant for Vilnius.
