Low mortality from "omicron" strain explained

Low mortality from "omicron" strain explained

According to the New York Times, researchers in Japan and the United States conducted a series of experiments on hamsters and rats with strains of coronavirus and found the reason why the newest omicron strain has an extremely low mortality rate.

As it turned out, it's all about the speed of the spread of the strain through the lungs - it moves extremely slowly along the respiratory tract in comparison with the "zero strain" and the dangerous strain "delta".

This is evidenced by the results of observations of experimental animals - it was in those infected with "omicron" that there was very little damage to the respiratory system.
