MFA Russia: German companies want to return to Russia

The head of the third European department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Oleg Tyapkin, said that German companies that left Russia want to return.

"A number of companies that announced their withdrawal from the country under pressure or due to sanctions imposed against us by the European Union are signalling their intention to immediately return to the Russian market as soon as the situation stabilizes and the political pressure subsides," Interfax quotes him as saying. ".

The diplomat underlined that Russia does not intend to close the doors to German business. According to him, some German enterprises that were forced to suspend work in Russia are suffering multi-billion dollar losses.

However, Tyapkin warned the German side that the refusal of Russian energy supplies would have a negative impact on the cost of products manufactured in Germany and, accordingly, shake the country’s position in world markets.

"The implementation of the German government’s intention to force the rejection of the import of our hydrocarbons will deprive the energy-intensive and export-oriented industry of Germany of key resources, the availability of which directly affects the cost of its products and, consequently, its position in international markets," the diplomat noted.

In addition, Tyapkin announced Russia's readiness to develop relations with Germany on the principles of equality.
