The Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Elmar Mammadyarov and Mevlut Cavusoglu, met today in Antalya. They strongly condemned all forms of terrorism, including the recent terrorist attacks in Turkey which resulted in numerous casualties, and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
The Foreign Ministers also discussed issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, noting that the project of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) following the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, will play an important role in ensuring the energy security of Europe.
Moreover, Mammadyarov and Cavusoglu discussed the joint tactical exercises TurAz Qartalı-2015 held in Azerbaijan, pointing out that cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere helps the strengthening of peace and security in the region.
The Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey emphasized that because of the unconstructive position of Armenia, the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict remains unresolved, which is a major threat to peace and security in the South Caucasus.
Mammadyarov and Cavusoglu also drew attention to the importance of the tripartite meetings in the format of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan-Turkey, which contribute to the development of cooperation in the political, economic, commercial, humanitarian, energy, transport and other spheres, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
