Georgia is important for China, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said today at the Munich Security Conference, answering the question of how Beijing’s growing ties with Moscow affect its relations with Tbilisi, the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reports. In fact, the head of the Georgian government did not answer the question.
“Georgia is not the last country in the geographical terms. For China, Georgia is important due to its logistics, because we are the part of the Belt and Road initiative. We have excellent relations with China. China has become one of our largest trading partners, ” Mamuka Bakhtadze.
“We are also seeing an increase in trade between Turkey and China, between the EU and China. If you look at the map, you will see that Georgia is a natural bridge between the European Union and China, so we see here many opportunities for Georgia on the continent, ” the Georgian Prime Minister added.
