Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili met with UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova in France. They discussed the deepening of cooperation between Georgia and UNESCO in the fields of culture, education and science.
“UNESCO greatly appreciates Georgia’s contribution to the Organization. The cooperation with your country in the fields of education and culture is particularly important,” the Director General said.
“Georgia is very connected to UNESCO,” the President of Georgia stressed, referring to the close cooperation since Georgia joined UNESCO as a Member State in 1992. The President expressed great appreciation for the role it played in strengthening education and empowering women worldwide.
