Azerbaijani gymnast Marina Durunda confessed in a conversation with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, that she is very proud of her friends from the team, Jalya Piriyeva and Zohra Agamirova, together with whom she won the gold medal of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in the team competitions of rhythmic gymnastics.
First of all, Marina Durunda said that she was very pleased with the champion's result. "We are so glad that we managed to justify the hopes of the whole country. For us it was a great honor to sing the anthem of Azerbaijan on the pedestal. When you stand on a pedestal and sing the anthem with the whole team, this is an inexpressible experience, "she said.
In the individual finals tomorrow, Azerbaijani gymnasts intend to perform even better than in the qualifications. "Tomorrow we will perform again, we will try to correct the mistakes and do everything right, that is, even better than yesterday and today," Marina Durunda said.
The athlete thanked the spectators and the Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan for their warm support. "We are always supported very warmly in Azerbaijan. We hear absolutely everyone, we see placards in the stands, so it's very nice to perform. And the Federation is our main support, we would not have coped without it, " the gymnast said.
