The Russian military cleared from mines a beach in the village of Peschanoye in Mariupol, Rear Admiral Viktor Kochemazov, commander of the Novorossiysk Naval Base, said.
During demining, anti-landing mines, which were installed by the Ukrainian military at the beginning of the year, were destroyed.
"The control trawling of the Peschany beach in the village of Peschanoye in the city of Mariupol has been completed. The beach is clean, the city's population can come here to sunbathe under the warm sun and swim in the waves of the Sea of Azov," he said, RIA Novosti reports.
