Matteo Renzi starts his visit to Tehran

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, heading a 250-member political and economic delegation, arrived in Tehran on Tuesday morning, IRNA reports.

Renzi is scheduled to hold talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and several high-ranking Iranians officials.

He will also address an economic forum in Tehran, which will be attended by the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

The ways for fostering economic and trade cooperation during post-sanctions era and active presence of Italian investors and companies in Iran are among the issues to be discussed during the meetings.

According to Press TV, Italian foreign minister, minister of infrastructures and transports, minister of economic development, and minister of agriculture, food and forestry policies as well as businessmen and personalities from Italy’s public and private sectors are accompanying Renzi in the visit.

A number of agreements will be signed between Iranian and Italian companies following the business forum.
