Thanks to the operation of the Russian aerospace forces in Syria, the preconditions for a political settlement of the conflict in this country have appeared, a message of the Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko to the People's Council of Syria says.
Senator Dmitry Sablin, who is currently in Damascus as part of the Russian delegation, read the message out to Syrian parliamentarians.
"Today the Russian aerospace forces have created preconditions for a political settlement of the crisis," TASS quotes Matviyenko as saying.
