Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has cancelled his visit to Yerevan due to the escalation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict after the provocative shelling of the civilian Azerbaijani population on the night of April 2nd by Armenian artillery systems in the frontal zone, RBC reports, citing two sources in the Russian government, that the visit was cancelled in spite of active preparations, it might be considered as support for one of the parties of the conflict in the full swing of its escalation.
Dmitry Medvedev was to take part in a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and hold talks with the Armenian leadership on April 7-8th.
According to one of the diplomatic source from the EAEU countries, the meeting was re-scheduled to a later date.
