The leaders of eight European countries are opposed the construction of the Nord Stream-2 pipeline, sending a corresponding letter to the head of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker.
"North Stream-2 may pose certain risks for energy security in Central and Eastern Europe. The project will have a significant impact on the development of the gas market and the model of gas transit in the region and above all the transit route through Ukraine," Reuters cites the text of the letter, signed by the prime ministers of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia and Romania, as well as the Presidents of Lithuania and Croatia.
It is worth noting that the European Commission didn't confirm the existence of such a letter from EU leaders, Tass reports.
