The Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President to the North Caucasus Federal District, Sergey Melikov, at a meeting today dedicated to the issue of improving the efficiency and quality of pension provision in the district, noted the special importance of the cooperation between federal agencies in the North Caucasus regions, including the Federal Tax Service, the Federal Bailiff Service and the Prosecutor's Office, with the Pension Fund of Russia.
"Considering the fact that today nearly a quarter – 24.5% – of the population of the district are recipients of pensions, the quality and efficiency of the pension system work largely depends on the stability of the socio-political situation in the region," Interfax quoted him as saying.
