Merkel: decision on Turkey negotiations won't be made at EU summit

The decision to end negotiations with Turkey on its accession to the EU won't be made at the upcoming EU summit in Brussels, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said.

"I said that we want to discuss the situation with Turkey, so we asked the European Commission to prepare a report. Of course, we won't make any decisions now. But I would like to listen to the opinions of my colleagues about what conclusions we can make," she said.
