Agricultural ground in the Dagestani district of Buynaksk has suffered from an infestation of mice.
A special commission consisting of agronomists and other specialists of the Republican State Organization Rosselhoztsentr was created in order to examine the situation.
During the inspection of fields near the village of Lower Dzhengutay, experts identified a huge number of rodents. According to them, agricultural lands are not being used for their intended purposes, leading to active proliferation of mice.
It is reported that there are about 300 mouseholes on one hectare. The current situation threatens future harvests.
