Milli Majlis: OSCE to discuss Armenian provocation

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly should discuss the latest provocation of the Armenian side on the contact line at its next session, Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament, Bahar Muradova, said.

She said that after the aggravation of the situation in the conflict zone in early April she wrote several times to the leadership of the OSCE PA. "These ideas were presented orally at the meetings. We also had a conversation with the special representative for the South Caucasus. Therefore, I believe that these efforts should be intensified, and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly should express its attitude about this issue. Since this issue was discussed in the Council of Europe, international organizations should also express their attitude on the latest developments – the Armenian provocations,’’ Trend cites the vice-speaker as saying.

Muradova noted that if Armenia recognizs the so-called ‘NKR’, this issue will be one of the most important among the topics discussed. "Because all the provocations lead to the recognition of ‘the independence’ of the occupation regime in Nagorno-Karabakh. They want to achieve this goal in different ways: on the one hand by force, on the other hand with the help of diplomacy, by means of deception of the world community,’’ she said.

Vice Speaker also voiced regret that, as a rule, Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group do no look for a comprehensive solution of the problem, focusing attention on some of its elements. "In this case we can say that these incidents are separate elements of an undeclared war against Azerbaijan. We cannot focus on individual elements, leaving the fundamental issue aside. The main attention should be focused on resolving the problem. We support a comprehensive discussion of the matter. Certainly, if we make such discussion possible, we will express all our thoughts about it,’’ Bahar Muradova said.
