A plenary meeting of the Azerbaijani parliament started today. The meeting's agenda includes reviewing the appeal of Azerbaijan's first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, MP Mehriban Aliyeva, over the adoption of the act of pardon on the occasion of the Republic Day on May 28.
The amnesty act is expected to apply to 10,000 prisoners and 3500 of them will be released from detention.
It is the fourth appeal of Mehriban Aliyeva to the parliament over the adoption of the act of pardon, Trend reports.
