Moldova is discussing gas supplies with Azerbaijan: there are real chances that Chişinău will soon have an alternative source of fuel, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure Andrei Spînu said.
"There are real chances that Moldova will buy gas from Azerbaijan, this will be an opportunity to diversify the supplies' sources. I will not name specific dates, but we will have a guaranteed alternative in the coming years", Spînu said on TV8, RIA Novosti reported.
The issue of the cost of Azerbaijani gas has not yet been agreed - it is only known that Moldova wants to get a price that the country's inhabitants will be able to pay.
Let us remind you that the Moldovan authorities expressed their intention to diversify the gas supplies' sources in order to reduce dependence on the Russian market.
