Moscow deciding on participation in Open Skies Treaty

Russia is currently contemplating the issue of future participation in the Treaty on Open Skies, Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Nonproliferation and Arms Control Department Vladimir Yermakov said.

"This issue is being decided now," he said, commenting on Russia’s Kommersant newspaper publication claiming that Russia is going to announce a review of its participation in the Open Skies Treaty.

"By exiting the treaty, the U.S. raised a big issue about the treaty’s existence," TASS cited Yermakov as saying.
