His name is well known to fans and admirers of musical art. A representative of one of the peoples of the Caucasus – the Laks – Murad Kazhlaev is one of the founders of professional music of Dagestan. Kazhlaev's work is very popular in Russia and abroad.
In an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, the vice-president of the Russian Council on International Affairs, former president of North Ossetia, diplomat Alexander Dzasokhov congratulated Murad Kazhlaev, calling him his long, dear and renowned friend.
"I am very happy that Murad Kazhlaev is celebrating his 85th birthday, having a lot of creative achievements behind him. He is equally talented as a composer, as a conductor, as a professor of music and as a son of Dagestan and our multinational Russia," he stated, reminding that the name Kazhlaev "has for decades been on the highest echelons of great culture, both during the Soviet era and in today's Russia."
