Mutko: Russia to cooperate with FIFA to establish reported acts of racist chants

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko said that the Russian football authorities would fully cooperate with the FIFA to establish reported acts of racist chants during the friendly match between Russia and France.

"We are ready to cooperate with FIFA as Russia has never supported racism. We have very strict regulations in football, new arenas are equipped with all the necessary video surveillance systems and we are able to record and identify everyone," TASS cited Mutko as saying.

"The work on the issue is underway, we have turned for assistance to law enforcement bodies and are cooperating with the FIFA, therefore all responsible will be punished after the facts are established," the deputy PM added.

French sports website Topmercato.com reported late last month that racist chants were heard to be yelled during the friendly match in Russia’s second largest city of St. Petersburg on March 27 and they were addressed against French national team’s players Paul Pogba and Ousmane Dembele.
