Naryshkin: Iraq, Syria and Kurdish militias are main fighters against IS

The Iraqi army, as well as Syrian and Kurdish troops, play the major role in the fight against IS, the chairman of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin said at the OSCE PA in Ulan Bator.

"I would rather say, if there were no Syrian forces, that the caliphate would feel comfortable in the Mediterranean, and would have even advanced further," he added. Sergei Naryshkin said.

Naryshkin stressed that Moscow will continue to supply Syria with weapons to assist in countering terrorism, in accordance with international law. "Russia does not conceal that it has delivered military aid to Syria" he noted.
