Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed the law “On Amendments and Additions to the Constitution”, the presidential press service said.
Kazakh Parliament passed the “Law on Amendments and Additions to the Constitution” on March 6.
On March 9, the country’s Constitutional Council ruled that the law on constitutional amendments is in line with the Constitution itself.
The constitutional reform envisages transferring some of powers from president to parliament and government. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev put forward the initiative to redistribute powers in December 2016, Gazeta.ru recalled.
